Easy Christmas Tree Brownie Recipe

These Christmas tree brownies are an easy and adorable treat that’s the perfect addition to any holiday gathering. Kids and adults alike will love these Christmas brownies!

Ingredients

  • 1 Egg

Baking & Spices

  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 3/4 cup Flour
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla

Instructions

  • To make one of these christmas brownie tree, start by lining an 8"x8" square baking pan with aluminum foil and then spray it with cooking spray.
  • Bake the brownies according to the package directions.
  • Then, allow them cool completely. Approximately about an hour and a half will be enough. They might come out of your pan, no problem.
  • Remove brownies from the pan and cut them into triangles as you wish. (Note: Cut in three rows first. Then, cut in alternating diagonals)
  • Using a sharp knife is quite important to get proper slices. You should cut the candy canes into 1.5" long pieces.
  • Press the sharper end of the candy cane into the bottom of the brownie triangles.
  • Spoon out approximately ½ of the tub of icing into a bowl.
  • Add green food colouring until you're happy with the colour.
  • Spoon the green icing into a zip lock bag.
  • Seal the bag and cut off a small corner of the bag with sharp scissors.
  • Starting at the top of the brownie triangles, gently squeeze out the icing in a curvy zigzag as you go down the tree.
  • Add your favourite sprinkles and a small star sprinkle at the top.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

Do not forget beating butter with a mixer until light and fluffy, at least 3 minutes. After that turn your mixer to lower speed and gradually add powdered sugar. Add vanilla extract and 2 tablespoons of milk or cream, beat until smooth and creamy. If you want, you can also add some more to get a thicker consistency. If you want to get thinner consistency then add more milk.

  2. my sister made these for a cookie swap we had in 2017. her recipe called for pretzel sticks for the trunk but she forgot them. i had brought a box of mini candy canes with so i suggested that she use those.
    she used 3 boxes of brownie mix and put in a jelly roll pan and baked them.
    she used a ruler to cut her’s


  3. I was thinking of making these in a round cake pan and then cutting like a pizza. That would make triangles with less waste. You may have to trim the bottoms to take the curved edge off.
